Electrical Safety Audit
Spot electrical hazards before they cause a fire or an unplanned shutdown.
Learn moreEnergy Management and Audit
A detailed energy audit by BEE-certified energy managers and auditors. We measure how your facility actually uses power, find where it is wasted, and hand you a costed plan to bring the bill down. Independent from day one: the audit is never tied to an equipment sale.
Overview
Energy is one of the largest cost lines in an industrial facility. Heavy machinery, HVAC and compressor systems draw power around the clock, and small inefficiencies quietly add up on the bill. In most facilities, nobody is measuring where that power actually goes.
An energy audit is the step-by-step method that fixes this. As per BEE guidelines, certified energy auditors compare the rated consumption of your major equipment against what it actually draws. They map how electricity, fuel, steam and compressed air move through the site, and find where energy is wasted. Every finding goes into a report with a cost-benefit analysis and a simple payback period, so management can pick the projects worth doing first.
PowerTech is an energy audit company based in Pune, with a presence in Mumbai. Since 2014 we have completed 600+ energy audits across India and abroad, and implemented 200+ energy-saving projects. We stay independent throughout: the findings are never shaped by an equipment sale.
Below are the checks at the core of every audit:
What's included
The scope is fixed before we start, so you know exactly what the team checks on site. Below are the systems a detailed industrial energy audit typically covers:
We review your recent bills, tariff slabs, contract demand and penalties to see what you actually pay for, and where the billing itself can be optimised.
Load profiling, demand analysis and power factor checks, with a full power quality study where the site needs one.
Energy performance assessment of pumps and motors, checking whether each drive is sized right for the load it carries.
Chiller performance, AHU efficiency, duct leakage and flow measurements across your cooling systems.
Compressor efficiency, ultrasonic air leak detection, pressure optimisation and a study of the piping network.
Boiler efficiency and steam system assessment, tracing heat losses across the distribution network.
Lighting load and lux levels measured area by area, matched against what each space needs.
Where solar or other renewable options genuinely fit your site, they enter the plan with the same payback scrutiny.
Why it matters
Every audit ends with the same four deliverables:
A breakdown of where every unit of energy goes, measured across utilities and production rather than assumed.
Energy conservation measures listed with cost, likely saving and simple payback, so you can pick where to start.
The report follows BEE guidelines and is accepted by state and central government bodies.
We can implement the measures turnkey or as consultants, then monitor and verify the savings achieved.
Methodology
The same BEE-aligned process runs on every site, scaled to its size:
We collect utility bills, consumption data and the connected load list, then set priorities for the most energy-intensive equipment.
Auditors measure with calibrated instruments such as power quality meters, thermal imagers, ultrasonic leak detectors and lux meters. We measure, we do not guess.
The data becomes an energy balance and a list of energy conservation measures, each with a cost-benefit analysis and a simple payback period.
Act on the report yourself, or have us handle vendor finalisation, procurement and commissioning, turnkey or as consultants.
Realised savings are benchmarked and verified against the plan, so you know the project delivered.
Independent, BEE-certified auditing since 2014.
Who we work with
PowerTech audits industrial, commercial and residential sites. Below are the sectors we serve most:
Steel, automobile and auto ancillary, food, pharma, FMCG, electronics and power. Utilities and process equipment both in scope.
Request an auditCorporate offices and IT parks, where higher tariffs make every wasted unit cost more.
Request an auditHealthcare, malls, cinemas and schools. Long operating hours, and no room for downtime.
Request an auditGuest areas, kitchens and utilities audited without disturbing the guest experience.
Request an auditCommon-area audits covering pumps, lifts and lighting, the loads behind the society's bill.
Request an auditRound-the-clock loads where cooling and power quality decide the operating cost.
Request an auditPumping-heavy sites where the pumps, not the process, drive the energy bill.
Request an auditHome energy reviews for high or unpredictable bills, sized for a house rather than a plant.
Request an auditCompliance
For designated consumers, yes. Below is how the mandate works:
Cross a consumption threshold set under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001, and your facility is a designated consumer. An energy audit by BEE-certified energy auditors is then mandatory.
Several state DISCOMs and government agencies have also made energy audits mandatory.
No mandate applies. The case for an audit here is the savings, not a certificate.
